National Work

Advancing Nonprofit and Philanthropic Priorities

  • Led a review of the Harris County Public Library (HCPL), supporting PFM’s comprehensive review of Harris County (TX) government operations. He assessed current operations, opportunities to increase internal effectiveness and external collaboration, and HCPL’s role in delivering equity and resiliency in Harris County.

  • Produced reports for the National Association of Counties’ efforts to support 2020 Census participation. Make It Count identified replicable strategies to promote a complete count as the 2020 Census approached. Achieving a Complete Count During a Pandemic took stock of county performance, common challenges, responsive strategies, and obstacles limiting an accurate count after the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • Partnered with PFM’s Center for Justice and Safety Finance for a comprehensive review of the City of Providence’s public safety operations, providing data-driven policy and operational choices to transition the Providence Fire Department to a prevention-first model.

  • Conducted a power mapping exercise in Reading, PA, in partnership with HR&A Advisors’ Inclusive Cities practice to support a national philanthropy assessing communities where early-stage funding could help burgeoning coalitions grow into powerful advocates for systemic change in K-12 education.

Collaborating With Respected National Partners

Greater Philadelphia Work

  • Produced a report for the Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia to document the experience of 2020 Census Action Fund recipients to highlight valuable lessons that regional census stakeholders should keep in mind as they lay the groundwork for the 2030 Census.

  • In partnership with Envoy Growth Advisory, led a landscape assessment and strategic analysis for Genesys Works, an evidence-based youth workforce development program. Interviewed workforce, education, and youth development leaders and evaluated philanthropic workforce development strategies to determine the demand for Genesys Works’ potential expansion to Philadelphia.

  • Provided blended project management in support of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey’s Chief Administrative Officer during a period of organizational transition.

  • Delivered performance analysis of payroll accuracy after the launch of the City of Philadelphia’s OnePhilly ERP system for the Chief Administrative Officer.
